02/16/2005: "Robot Valentine"
In honor of this past Valentine's Day, I pose some questions. Does love know no boundaries? Can a man or woman confront and accept love they may not have expected from an unusual source? Can we, as people, accept the idea that non humans can love? With Artificial Intelligence projected to be achieved within the next decade or two, can we believe that a computer, or a robot, can love?Once we've come to terms with this possible emergent reality... do we simply take it away?
